Melissa assists the Firm’s local government and school district clients in transactional matters such as contractual agreements, legal compliance, special education issues and by representation at public meetings and hearings.
Melissa serves as Solicitor for Schwenksville Borough Authority and Borough of Perkasie Civil Service Commission and as Assistant Solicitor to Northampton, Bucks County, Municipal Authority and North Wales Water Authority. She also serves as special counsel to Bristol Township School District for special education matters.
During Melissa’s practice as a municipal attorney, she was Corporate Counsel for Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, one of the largest water and sewer municipal authorities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. While she was working there, she gained an understanding and knowledge of municipal entities which few Solicitors are able to experience.
Melissa is also very proud of her practice as a litigator. She believes strongly that the skills learned while litigating cases and in the courtroom have been very beneficial to providing services to the Firm’s municipal clients. Melissa has tried bench and jury trials, state court arbitrations, private arbitrations, argued before numerous courts of common pleas, The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and The Court of Special Appeals in Maryland.
Melissa was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Melissa is admitted to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Bars, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Melissa is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Bucks County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association.
She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA) and was and was recently appointed as the Alternate Delegate for Region #1 Associate Committee at the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association.
