Mike Zabel is of counsel to the firm. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Mike has broad experience with civil litigation in state and federal courts. As a former prosecutor for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, he also handled hundreds of criminal trials and preliminary hearings. Mike graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law, cum laude, where he was a staff editor for Temple Law Review and a member of Temple’s National Trial Team. During his time at Temple, he also served as a summer law clerk for the Honorable J. Curtis Joyner, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He holds a bachelor’s degree in classics from the College of the Holy Cross and a master’s degree in classical studies from Indiana University. Prior to becoming a litigator, Mike taught Latin and ancient Greek at the middle school, high school, and college levels.
In 2018, Mike was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He currently serves on the House Judiciary and Education Committees; he is also the Subcommittee Chair on Recreation for the House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee. Mike has also served as co-chair for Governor Tom Wolf’s statewide Juvenile Justice Task Force – a bipartisan, interbranch group charged with delivering data-driven findings and recommendations for reforming and improving Pennsylvania’s juvenile justice system.
Mike is a proud resident of Delaware County, where he lives in Drexel Hill with his wife Lauren and two young children.
