When lawsuits are necessary, Rudolph Clarke provides exceptional representation for Pennsylvania municipalities facing litigation.
The municipal law attorneys at Rudolph Clarke help townships, boroughs, school districts, waste and water authorities and other municipal entities in Bucks and Montgomery counties find innovative solutions to the tough legal problems that face our communities. We know that you’d prefer to keep your municipality’s case out of court, and we pride ourselves on our ability to prevent costly lawsuits. However, litigation is sometimes unavoidable.
When a municipality requires exceptional representation on matters of public agency law and litigation, they look to Rudolph Clarke for help. Our attorneys’ broad-based experience is founded on decades of representing public entities at the federal, state and local levels. We work hard to achieve the results you need, quickly and economically.
In 2011, Rudolph Clarke successfully represented a water and sewer authority when a group of non-residential property owners filed a lawsuit against the municipality. The property owners did not want to pay their assigned portion of costs associated with the construction and installation of public sanitary sewers in a large section of the municipal district. In July 2014, the Commonwealth Court ruled that the Property Owners must pay their fair share of the construction fees. This decision protected the financial interests of the authority as well as the residents of the municipality, who would have been left paying the bill for the construction project.
Rudolph Clarke has successfully represented our clients in a variety of municipal litigation matters involving:
- Land use planning decisions
- Eminent domain and inverse condemnation
- Water and sewer authority representation
- Property tax allocation
- Tax appeals
- Elections law
- Code enforcement actions
- Labor and employment
- Contract disputes
- Zoning matters
- Police liability and civil rights
